The Justice of Primative Animals

Blogger Kaelyn said...

Social injustice is something primative animals don't notice don't care, they live they help each other, if we have the bigger brains why can't we make better desicions?

Hmmm . . . a good question from Kaelyn. Thoughts, anyone?

I'm interested to see what you all come up with for yellow journalism. Seek hard! Do what you can to look up information about the Tank Man from Tienanmen Square as well. Enjoy class tomorrow!

Animals are smarter than humans because they follow their instincts better, and they've been around longer. And humans are power hungry.

i think because we, as humans have larger brains, we can think think more distructive thoughts. animals tend go more by instinct.

One example of yellow journalism I have is how FOX.news tends to be biased towards republicans, in this case it was John McCain. Also there is plenty of social injustices in the animal kingdom, for example there is a scene in planet earth where a baby elk is chased and eaten by a wolf. So animals have social injustices, just in a different way then humans.

This is along the lines of yellow journalism, this is a story I heard but it might not be true. So a person hung a doll of Sarah Palin. They did not get charged with anything. Then in response to that, a person hung a doll of Barack Obama and got charged with hate crime. This shows a bias in the police department or whoever charged the person.
I also agree with Anna on the animal thing. We go more on our own thoughts and feelings, as animals go on instinct.

Animals cannot commit social injustices because they do not have a social system but commit injustices in our view. For example a mother panda will only feed the stronger cub and let the other one starve to death. Animals do not have a social system that rejects, shuns, and/or punishes them and they are not smart enough to think of social justices or injustices. The way that animals think is how can I survive. they do not have capacity to think of what is right or wrong but do what they think will be better for themselves to survive. Right or wrong is a point of view, depending which side you are on. In our point of view, the elk being hunted down by the wolf is a social injustice because we think about how the elk might be feeling in the situation, but the wolf needs the food to survive. Humans think also of how others might feel if they commit an injustice, where animals do not think of it but only how they can survive.

I think one example of yellow journalism is that most of the time we only hear why there shouldn't be a war in Iraq but we never hear why we should be fighting in Iraq or about the succeses we have there. we only hear about when people die or when we are forced to kill people. I also agree with Anna and Kiki. Animals go on insticint so there is very little social injustice in the animal kingdom, while people go on thoughts and feelings.

An example of yellow journalism is KOMO4 news they lean towards Obama and make McCain look bad.

Some people have bigger brains than others but some choose to use their knowlege to gain power and become a power-hungry MANIAC!!!!Animals think about if they will make it through the day. Not who is stronger than who. But a downside to that is that they may not help their own kind if they were being attacked. So in some ways animals are smarter than humans and humans smarter than animals in others. Only certain people, animals and situations can tell.

The power-hungry maniac thing is a classic bad guy/evil leader thing.

One example of Yellow journalism that I can think of is WWII news propaganda. Propaganda is an extremely baised way of spreading belifs. For example in WWII if the president of the United States chose to bomb a certain area and in these bombings innocent people were killed by ACCIDENT Nazi propaganda might have portrayed him as a "Murder of the Innocent." Such items of propaganda were very common during WWII coming from both the allies and the axis powers. Both also affected the opposite power by spreading false assumptions and extreme exagerations.

Animals and social justice: I completly agree with Jacob K on this one. Animals have a form of social justice just in a different way that we aren't used to.

I don't think animals are smarter than us. I think animals follow instincts and have done so for many many years. We don't have such strong instincts we make our own choices.

Re:animals: Ignorance is bliss, in other words most of the animals know now injustice. Hear no evil, speak no evil, if their never exposed to social injustice, they will never commit it. Though it may happen sometimes.

like quintin said they follow there instinct i was watching something and it says some animals don't have feelings so they think of things as right or wrong they just see it as "oh i did something" and thats not like us "oh i did something wrong" or i'm going to do something wrong.
